Who looks after your information?

Sefton Dialogue uses software provided by Delib. The software allows Sefton Council to run consultations, surveys and other engagement activities online.

When you take part, the information you provide is sent to Sefton Council.

Sefton Council is the data controller. This means we are responsible for deciding how your personal information is collected, used and stored.

The information you provide may include personal information, such as your:

  • name
  • age
  • contact details
  • answers to questions about you.

Not every consultation will ask for this information.

How Delib uses your information

Delib provides and supports the software used for Sefton Dialogue.

Delib processes information on behalf of Sefton Council. This includes:

  • keeping the website working properly
  • storing information securely
  • making information available to Sefton Council so we can analyse responses and carry out our work.

Delib will not access your personal information unless it needs to do so to provide support to Sefton Council or to help with an issue you have reported.

How Sefton Council uses your information

We will provide privacy information for consultations and engagement activities where personal information is collected.

This will explain:

  • what information we collect
  • why we need it
  • how we will use it
  • who we may share it with
  • how long we will keep it
  • your rights over your personal information.

Information collected when you use the website

Some technical information is collected automatically when you use Sefton Dialogue.

Delib uses this information to help keep Sefton Dialogue secure, operate the website and improve the software.
